Nancy DeVetter

Founder & Managing Attorney

A Lawyer Who

Builds Second Chances

Nancy DeVetter founded DeVetter Law Firm with a simple but powerful belief:

the law should help people move forward.

A Georgia native, Nancy earned her undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University and her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law. She spent more than a decade at Georgia Legal Services Program providing free legal representation to low-income Georgians - work that shaped her deep commitment to criminal justice reform and equal access to the courts.

Today, Nancy is widely recognized as one of Georgia’s leading voices in expungement and record restriction law. Under her leadership, DeVetter Law Firm has become a cornerstone in the Savannah community, hosting monthly expungement clinics in partnership with local organizations to help individuals clear their records and reclaim opportunities.

More Than a Practice Area

For Nancy, criminal record clearing isn’t just paperwork. It’s restoring dignity.

She has helped shape local policy as a Tybee Island City Council member, advocating for pragmatic criminal justice reform and equity initiatives. Whether in the courtroom, city council chambers, or at a community clinic, Nancy brings the same steady approach: thoughtful, direct, and solutions-oriented.
