How do I get a national background check?
It is important to know what is on your criminal background and to check your background on a regular basis. State, national, and private background checks are often missing information or have errors that can affect your opportunities.
If you have a record in more than one state or someone needs you to provide a national background check, you can order it through specially approved agencies. This national report, known as the “III Report” is only available to the individual and to a specific list of employers and agencies.

If you see an error on your national background check, you will need to contact a lawyer in that state to determine your legal options to make a correction or expunge the charge.
